When Love Doesn’t Make Sense (But Still Shows Up Anyway)
This morning, my coffee got cold because I was too busy crying over a text from my friend. Not a sad text. A kind one. The kind that says, “You’re not alone. I see you.”
And for some reason, that simple sentence broke something open in me.
Because isn’t that just like God?
To send His love not through thunder or lightning, but through a quiet message. A toddler’s hug. A song at the exact right moment.
Sometimes we look for fireworks and forget that His love often shows up like manna — just enough for today.
There have been seasons I questioned His love. When the prayers went unanswered. When the waiting felt like punishment. When I couldn’t see a single breadcrumb on the path.
But even then — especially then — His love held me.
Romans 8:38–39 whispers this promise like a lullaby: “For I am convinced that neither death nor life… nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Friend, I don’t know what kind of ache you’re carrying today. But I do know this:
You are wildly, deeply, relentlessly loved. Not because of what you do. But because of who He is.
Reflection Prompt:
Where has God’s love shown up unexpectedly in your life lately? Write it down. Thank Him for it. It’s a love letter hiding in plain sight.
